About the project

Why Sustainability Matters in Higher Education?

Sustainability is no longer a niche topic—it is becoming a strategic priority for universities, students, businesses, and society as a whole.

SUSTAIN-ACE aims to bridge the gap between traditional economic education and the emerging demands of a sustainable economy. The project focuses on improving both the quality and the relevance of university programs by integrating sustainability into learning, teaching, and collaboration with stakeholders.

A Project for the Future of Higher Education

SUSTAIN-ACE – Sustainable Accounting, Economics, Finance and Management Education is an Erasmus+ strategic partnership designed to help universities respond to one of the defining challenges of our time: integrating sustainability into the core of higher education.

In a world shaped by climate change, the transition to a circular economy, and the need for sustainable economic development, universities must prepare students for a new reality. SUSTAIN-ACE supports this transformation by modernizing academic programs in accounting, economics, finance, and management through an interdisciplinary, inclusive and forward-looking approach aligned with the needs of today’s labour market.

Our Promise

We empower a new generation of responsible professionals while advancing universities as leaders in sustainable education.

An International Academic Partnership

SUSTAIN-ACE brings together an international consortium of universities and partners from Romania, Italy, Lithuania, North Macedonia, the Republic of Serbia, and Sweden. The project connects teachers, students, researchers, representatives of the business environment, NGOs, and public institutions, creating a collaborative ecosystem where education meets real-world challenges.

Through this partnership, universities work together to design innovative learning experiences that reflect both academic excellence and societal needs.
